A battery-related problem with Garmin Fenix 6 smartwatches has been reported. Users claim that their batteries are draining at ~2% an hour, significantly reducing the wearable's lifetime.
If you check the Garmin forums, there are a lot of people with this random battery drain issue. Sometimes my battery will lose 70% over night. Garmin won't admit it or own up to it, and no real fix for it, even after months of it existing. It first appeared after going from 4.9 to 5.0 firmware, and has been present ever since.
To extend the life of the battery, you can try these tips. Change the power mode during an activity ( Changing the Power Mode). Turn on the battery saver feature from the controls menu (Controls). Reduce the screen timeout ( Changing the Screen Settings). Reduce the screen brightness ( Changing the Screen Settings). Fenix 7X SS APAC here running 14.31 and not experiencing the reported battery drain. Installed the new software at approx 8pm last night with battery at 37%, woke up this morning ten hours or so later with just 1% drop.
