BMW 5-Series service reset procedure. Close the door. Turn on the ignition. Press and hold trip reset button and wait for the service icon to appear. Release the button as soon as first service procedure is visible on the screen. Use trip reset button to choose reminder to reset.
An alternative method to reset the BMW spark plug service reminder is a BMW-specific OBD2 scanner that allows the user to perform a Conditional Based Service (CBS) reset. A good BMW scanner will be able to reset the BMW service light on all BMWs, including 1-series, 3-series, 5-series, 6-series, 7-series, X1, X3, X5, Z3, Z4, etc.
